RADIATION THERAPIST – The Namibian Oncology Centre (Noc)

Key Responsibilities

• Safely and accurately deliver prescribed radiotherapy treatments to patients
• Perform patient simulations, tumour localisation procedures, and prepare immobilisation devices
• Maintain accurate records of patient treatment regimens and progress
• Observe and implement radiation safety measures for patients and personnel
• Explain procedures to patients and provide education on potential side effects and management
• Perform and document daily linear accelerator warm-up and quality assurance procedures
• Monitor patients during treatment and respond appropriately to any complications
• Collaborate with medical physicists and oncologists to optimise treatment delivery
• Participate in weekly on-call rotation as required
• Maintain clean, safe, and orderly treatment areas
• Assist with departmental policies, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Degree in Therapeutic Radiography or equivalent relevant qualification (essential)
• Minimum three years’ clinical experience with linear accelerators
• Experience in VMAT/RapidArc and advanced treatment techniques
• Experience with Mosaiq software and Elekta linear accelerators preferred
• Current registration with Allied Health Professions Council of Health Professions Council of Namibia
• Recent working experience within the private healthcare sector is advantageous
• Strong organisational and leadership skills
• Proven work ethic and ability to work under pressure
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with patients and colleagues
• Fluency in English; additional languages advantageous
