Upon commencement of the employment relationship you are subject to the following responsibilities:
• Ensure that guests are greeted, allocated rooms promptly and the check-in procedure and orientation is handles professionally and courteously
• Ensure that check in procedures are strictly adhered to and that the correct address and check-out details are obtained from each guest
• Be readily available at all times to deal with guests and direct problems or complaints to the correct department.
• Ensure all queries and reservations are dealt with correctly and courteously
• As the Front Desk can be termed the communications hub, effective communication between reception and all other departments is imperative (e.g. housekeeping)
• Ensure effective and speedy check-out facilities
• Ensure that luggage is delivered and collected from rooms speedily
• All enquiries, messages, activity bookings must be dealt with courteously and effectively
• All incoming and outgoing telephone calls must be handled promptly and courteously
• Keep all front office areas impeccably clean and tidy at all times
• Carry out systematic checks of all Front of House areas for maintenance requirements, repairs or refurbishing, ensuring that these are actioned without delay
• Host guest meals on a rotational basis if necessary
• Follow up on feedback from guests regarding activities
• You will be required to be present, when necessary, to assist guests if they are checking in or out late in the evening of early in the morning (outside normal reception hours)
• Ensure that all charges are correctly entered on guests invoices and that this is up to date at all times
• Taking payment and closing off guest accounts
• Ensure the accounts are balanced daily
• Ensure the accurate and timeous submission of all reposts and administrative work
• Within reason, to accept any other responsibilities, and other jobs that management may require of you.
• Report for duty on time
• At all times promote good relations between yourself, the staff and guests
• Wear the lodge uniform and ensure a tidy look
• Address problems in accordance with conflict resolution structures
• Adhere to the policies and procedures of the Lodge, including conditions of employment, code of conduct
• Communicate with colleagues, superiors and guests in a respectful manner
• Maintain clean staff quarters and bathrooms
• Sufficient in Innkeeper
Although you have been employed in the capacity referred to above, you may be required to perform other duties that may reasonably be expected of you from the Employer from time to time
