Savanna Beef Operations (Pty) Ltd was established in 2023 by the Beef Value Chain Forum of Namibia and is in the process of setting up an export abattoir and a red meat processing facility outside of Windhoek. The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for developing, planning, coordinating, leading and directing the human resources function for Savanna Beef Operations (Pty) Ltd. HR policies and procedures must be developed and implemented in line with Savanna Beel Operations (Ply) Ltd.’s goals, objectives and values.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives, including workforce planning, talent management and succession planning.
- Support the Chief Executive Officer with rolling out and embedding the company culture.
- Lead and manage the compensation and benefits programs, including salary surveys, job evaluations, and performance-based pay programs, recruitment and selection, and overseeing employee onboarding and orientation programs.
- Develop and implement development programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR related issues, including employee relations, performance management, career development, and wellness.
- Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations and maintain accurate and up to date HR policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement employee engagement initiatives that promote a positive and productive work environment.
- Report to management and provide decision making support through HR Metrics.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- A bachelor’s degree in human resources management. A post-graduate qualification will be an advantage.
- At least ten (10) years experience in Human Resources Management with negotiation exposure and Union interaction. Industry-specific experience in a senior human resources position is also required.
- Ability to conceptualize and create the HR function from scratch.
- Experience in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated abilities in all aspects of Human Resources Architecture.
- Emotional intelligence, influencing skills, ability to work in a tearn, and proficiency
