TEACHING POSTS – St Paul’s College

Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree or a relevant undergraduate degree plus a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), both accredited by the Namibian Qualifications Authority (NQA). Registration with the Teaching Council of Namibia (TCN) is mandatory before commencing employment, and subject-specific teaching endorsements (e.g., Mathematics, English) must align with the post applied for.

Teachers prepare and deliver lessons aligned with the Namibian National Curriculum, assess learners using Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture (MEAC) guidelines, and participate in extracurricular activities such as sports, clubs, or pastoral care. They also attend staff meetings, contribute to school development planning, and maintain learner records in accordance with TCN and MEAC reporting requirements.

Namibian schools emphasise respect for authority, communal responsibility, and strong learner-teacher relationships rooted in cultural values such as 'ubuntu'. Punctuality, dress code adherence (often formal or school-branded attire), and active participation in community engagement — including parent-teacher associations and church-linked activities — are widely expected, especially in faith-based institutions like St Paul's College.

Teachers may progress from classroom teacher to roles such as Senior Teacher, Head of Department, or Deputy Principal, typically requiring additional qualifications (e.g., Diploma in Educational Management) and TCN leadership endorsement.
