Key Responsibilities

Coordinate the development, formulation, and implementation of the company’s HR strategies and policies.
Review and ensure that IR Policies and collective agreements comply with legislation and support the company’s needs
Analyze internal and external IR environments, evaluate their impact, and recommend plans to mitigate any negative effects
Conduct regular climate surveys, assess industry trends, and adopt best practices in IR
Facilitate consultations between management and employees, and represent the company in conciliation and arbitration proceedings.
Coordinate and manage the company’s training and development strategies to meet current and future HR needs.
Oversee negotiations with unions, review agreements, handle strike actions, and ensure compliance with recognition agreements
Manage payroll operations, recruitment, staff movements, and overall HR administration
Conduct benchmarking HR Systems, provide policy interpretation advice, and compile monthly HR statistics.
Administer employee fringe benefits, performance management processes, and ensure consistent application of performance appraisals conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
Supervise direct reports, identify their training needs, and manage resource acquisition and budgeting
Develop and implement employee engagement and retention strategies to enhance job satisfaction and reduce turnover
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and address workplace safety issues
Oversee succession planning and career development initiatives to prepare employees for future roles.
Manage employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
Develop and maintain HR information systems and ensure data accuracy and confidentiality
Implement and monitor diversity and inclusion programs to promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture

Requirements

A relevant Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, or a related field (NQF Level 7)
At least 08 years’ experience in Human Resources environment, including general HR functions, with a minimum of 4 years in a supervisory or management role
Sound knowledge of employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary process, and employee engagement.
Familiarity with the construction industry is an advantage
Proficiency in VIP Sage HRIS, Payroll Systems and Excel
Good communication and interpersonal skills
