Job Purpose
To develop and implement local Technology and Operations execution, partnering with Group Technology & Operations and Country leadership, providing strategic vision and operational Technology leadership for the Tier 2 & 3 Country Technology & Operations Function. Deliver to clients aligned to Client Solutions and Client Segments strategies, managing in-country delivery and provision of local support for Group shared solutions. Lead & drive technology and operational excellence and efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Risk, Regulatory, Prudential & Compliance
- Comply with statutory and regulatory laws. Set, advise and monitor adherence to, minimum standards for the Technology and Operations Function within a Tier 2 & 3 country. Perform against best practice standards.
- Adhere to the risk appetite standards for the Technology and Operations Function within a Tier 2 & 3 country. Collaborate with the Country Chief Executive and Exco to determine the risk appetite for the country and orchestrate / integrate services with local execution delivery.
- Ensure country execution against approved toolboxes, partnering with CIOs and Technology Practices & Centres of Excellence to co-develop, innovate and improve toolboxes.
- Orchestrate the delivery of the digital transformation & innovation technology requirements by defining the benefits of technology to solve business imperatives, while also managing costs and risks. Collaborate with Group Technology and external vendors to ensure delivery based on Tier 2 and 3 country requirements.
- Maintain relationships with Tier 2 and 3 country specific regulatory bodies through regular engagements, to keep abreast of changes to regulations and directives, and to ensure country Technology and Operations meets its technology specific regulatory requirements and statutory policies and procedures.
- Participate in the relevant management committees and governance forums (e.g. Risk and Control Committee, Signature Programme Boards) injecting experience and thought leadership.
- Actively participate in relevant risk governance forums including providing necessary input and escalating relevant risk issues, ensuring that prioritisation processes and discussions are well informed regarding risk mitigation work that is contending for priority with other matters
- Drive and champion a positive risk culture and attitude within the country Technology and Operations function, establishing appropriate risk oversight and governance processes and structures.
People
- Lead the Technology and Operations Function within a Tier 2 & 3 country according to the lean leadership and employee engagement principles, including employee lifecycle from recruitment through to exit, performance management, training and development, discipline and grievance management, retention and reward and people administration, to ensure a high performance culture.
- Collaborate with Group Technology and Operations to secure appropriate domain knowledge within a Tier. Ensure delivery of appropriate solutions in local markets with the assistance from Technology Practices and Centres of Excellence.
- Collaborate, provide insight and subject matter expertise to select applications / infrastructure and vendors to implement the technology plan and Blueprint within a Tier 2 & 3 country. Orchestrate and integrate services within the country.
- Build a high performance team through managing resources & retention of critical staff to match strategic business requirements. Collaborate and engage with Group Technology and Operations to secure additional capabilities based on specific needs from the Tier 2 & 3 country.
- Build and manage long term, sustainable relationships with vendors and Group and Regional shared execution areas (managed services) to realise country Technology & Operations objectives.
Physical Infrastructure
- Define the stakeholder engagement model that relates to the Technology and Operations Function within a Tier 2 & 3 country.
Organisation Design
- Integrate operations, technology best practices and Engineering (information Security, Data & Analytics) standards to allow for legitimate, reputable solutions and operations within a Tier 2 & 3 country.
- Implement the Technology and Operations Function’s specific Operating Model, capabilities, supporting standard job descriptions and skill requirements for the Technology and Operations Functions within a Tier 2 & 3 country based on Human Capital standards aligned to domain design guidance and organisation models.
Strategy
- Formulate and implement the Technology and Operations Function’s strategy within a Tier 2 & 3 country to enable the Group strategy. Monitor and maintain adherence to the Group Technology and Operations Functional plan within the country.
- Collaborate closely with teams across the organisation to provide strategic input and guidance related to expand and rapidly evolve the digital landscape and direct the design of technology solutions to expand SBGs digital footprint in Tier 2 & 3 countries.
- Contribute to the development of the Technology and Operations strategy by providing input from a Tier 2 & 3 country perspective to ensure aligned to the Client Segments and Client Solutions strategies within a Tier 2 & 3 country. Plan, deliver and manage the portfolio Technology and Operations mandate and fit-for-purpose solutions within a Tier 2 & 3 country.
- Monitor and coordinate the actual delivery of services to a Tier 2 & 3 country through country or shared execution from Engineering Technology Services and Group Operations Managed Services.
- Interpret the Client Segments and Client Solutions strategies, offerings and products, producing an operational plan that will enable the Tier 2 & 3 country to realise its strategic objectives through Technology and Operational support.
- Contribute to the development of the Technology and Operations Toolbox to ensure the solutions and tools are fit for purpose in countries / markets to meet the service management expectations and service clients adequately.
- Provide insight on the maturity of local partners and vendors to ensure optimal partnering and successful delivery to the Tier 2 & 3 country.
- Lead strategic discussions at Country Exco level with regards to Technology & Operations, Real Estate Services and Engineering for Tier 2 & 3 countries where there is no Head, Engineering.
Technology & Architecture
- Lead the implementation of the Information Technology Blueprint, overseeing the requisite toolbox (solutions, technology tools and standards, preferred vendors) within a Tier 2 & 3 country to fit market needs.
- Lead the localisation journey for a Tier 2 & 3 country to negotiate and agree the Technology services that will be set-up as mandatory delivered via shared execution in ETS or shared in Group Operations Managed Services.
- Orchestrate the execution, quality of service and stability of domain solutions, within a Tier 2 & 3 country to ensure a consistent customer experience.
- Utilise the Toolbox to achieve the optimal technology plan implementation and meet client needs within a Tier 2 & 3 country.
- Identify and establish appropriate local Technology and Operations capabilities in a Tier 2 & 3 country, based on the Group and country strategic plans. Negotiate and contract with local suppliers, partners in line with Group Technology & Operations strategies.
- Incorporate fit-for-purpose technical architecture that support the technology plan catering for Tier 2 & 3 country requirements and objectives, in partnership with Enterprise Architecture.
- Support the Country leadership with IT Service stability measurement and reporting, total cost and information security risk management, as well as financial recovery.
- Facilitate and articulate the trade-off decisions between the Country strategies, roadmaps or requirements and objectives and Group Technology & Operations strategy by engaging all key stakeholders.
- Lead appropriate country level response and service management capabilities in conjunction with the relevant Group Tech &Ops stakeholders satisfying service stability, restoration and fulfilment requirements. Define appropriate platform, infrastructure and monitoring services and expectations for delivery in-country.
Financial Management
- Enable capital and functional cost improvements, improved risk controls and compliance, data access, quality and integrity, governance driven predictability, accelerating change readiness and business agility for the Technology and Operations Function within a Tier 2 & 3 country.
- Lead the Vendor Management on behalf of the Technology and Operations Function for a Tier 2 & 3 country. Ensure Technology and Operations services are competitive and benchmarked against industry standards.
- Drive cost management and budgetary control and adherence for the Technology and Operations Function within a Tier 2 & 3 country, including the development and management of the operational budget and unit cost management to control cost within budget.
- Develop the budgetary efficiency targets for the Technology and Operations Function for a Tier 2 & 3 country to ensure alignment to the financial strategy as determined by the Group Finance Function.
Client
- Act as the Group Technology & Operations thought leader to drive the appropriate conversations and plans at Country Exco level to align Technology and Operations objectives with the aspirations and needs of the country to increase agility. Define the country requirements specifically for Tier 2 & 3 countries in order to secure support and capabilities from Technology Practices and COEs.
- Provide operational leadership and management of the Country Technology & Operations function. Orchestrate and integrate services from Group Technology and Operations to deliver to the service quality expectation and client experience.
- Oversee the delivery of value to the client (journeys and experience) and local team application development/deployment execution adhering to Group Technology & Operations standards and practices.
- Execute on the country Technology and Operations requirements by overseeing the delivery and maintenance of the business demand, within agreed time, quality and cost parameters, balancing supply and demand. Utilise Group Technology and Operations resources through Practices and COEs as well as external Vendors to deliver services.
- Contribute to the optimisation of user and client experience in Tier 2 & 3 Countries through close collaboration with stakeholders to define and implement the Technology and Operations automation roadmap for the digital transformation strategy and requirements in-country.
- Lead the engagement with regards to shared execution delivery (Engineering Technology Services and Group Operations Manage Services) for a Tier 2 & 3 country to receive relevant services in country and manage service expectations with key stakeholders..
- Coordinate the acceleration of digital operations for the Tier 2 & 3 country to ensure effective and efficient delivery as per the agreed service levels to ensure a robust and secure technology stack. Secure the appropriate resources from Technology Practices and COEs to ensure delivery.
- Define the Technology and Operations client experience to promote technology and operational excellence within the Tier 2 & 3 country to ensure client satisfaction and realisation of the country strategic objectives.
Data
- Provide information, status and progress reports on local execution, overall service management as required as input to cross- functional management of information, reporting and technology across Group Technology & Operations.
- Share information and gather insights into the efficacy of toolboxes, standards and lessons learnt, participating in Group Technology & Operations and industry forums influencing norms.
