POSITION: EXECUTIVE HUMAN CAPITAL
REPORTING TO: CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
DEPARTMENT: HUMAN RESOURCE DEPARTMENT
LOCATION: PORT OF WALVIS BAY
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Provides strategic Human Capital leadership to Namport to optimally achieve attraction, retention & development of required talent in order to facilitate the attainment of Namport’s strategic objectives.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Develop, implement & maintain effective people management, policies, systems and practices aligned to best practice, relevant legislation and the corporate strategy;
- Guide and support Executive Leadership and Line Management in the effective management of people so as to derive optimal benefits from the company’s human capital;
- Facilitates major organizational interventions, transformation and change processes and guide the organisation in executing change management;
- Drive continuous organizational improvement through determination of Namport’s optimal staffing levels to achieve required efficiency and productivity levels;
- Conduct diagnostic assessments and implement organisational development interventions required to enhance employee engagement and improve organisational performance;
- Cultivate and nurture a unique Namport organizational culture to serve as a competitive differentiator and driver for individual and organisational performance;
- Build a robust leadership and talent pipeline through an appropriate human capital development strategy;
- Build and maintain sound relations and engagement with organised labour and all relevant internal and external stakeholders and ensure compliance with relevant statutory and governance requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in HA, Social Sciences or equivalent.
- An MBA, relevant Master’s Degree or Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management
- A minimum of 10 years relevant experience in the field of human resources, of which 5 years should have been in a senior management capacity.
Strategic leadership and excellent communication skills.
Strong knowledge of the labour legislation environment coupled to previous exposure in a highly unionized environment.
Ability to lead and influence at all levels, with highly refined stakeholder management skills. Anticipating and managing change
Service and results orientation
Strong interpersonal management and relationship building skills
Business acumen matched with good influencing and negotiation skills
