PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Facilitates the development of the corporate strategy and business plans to enable Namport to meet its strategic intent and objectives.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Coordinate Namport’s strategy formulation and annual planning processes by applying best practices in strategy development and research tools and ensuring alignment of the Namport Strategy to national and regional development goals;
- Facilitate the development of Namport’s 5-Year Strategic Plan, including annual reviews thereof, working collaboratively with the Management Executive Committee and where appropriate, external stakeholders;
- Conduct and/or commission appropriate research and analysis on industry, market and technology to support strategic planning, ascertain strategic relevance and identify growth opportunities so as to ensure a responsive and sustainable business;
- Coordinate conceptualisation and/or implementation of company-wide strategic projects required to ensure Namport’s long-term profitability and sustainability;
- Lead and facilitate the development of Namport’s suite of organizational key performance indicators as well as translation of the corporate strategy into aligned corporate, business unit and executives performance scorecards in order to ensure consistent and effective implementation of the strategy;
- Provide support to the Chief Executive Officer on corporate strategy planning and implementation, performance monitoring and reporting as well as liaison with government bodies and entities on Namport’s Strategy and Performance Reporting;
- Liaise with and coordinate requirements of Government bodies and entities relating to Namport Strategy and Performance Reporting;
- Take a leadership role in identifying innovations in data collection, analysis and reporting to drive organizational performance reporting;
- Develop and refine performance benchmarks, monitor organisational performance against the strategic business plan and continuously identify areas requiring performance improvement and development of strategies for improvement
Qualifications & Skills
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Economics or Business Administration or related field specializing in strategic management
- A Master’s Degree in Business Administration or relevant field would be an added advantage;
- 6 years’experience in strategic management and/or business management
- 5 years’experience at management level;
- Broad understanding of the macro economic environment and fundamentals, global trade trends, appreciation of the National developmental goals and objectives as well as ability to anticipate changes arising in this regard and translating into coherent strategy;
- Good understanding of the global logistics and transport sector;
- Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans.
