A completed bachelor’s degree in business, management, economics, or a closely related field from a recognised institution is usually required. Some roles may prefer or require postgraduate study (e.g., Honours or Master’s) or professional certifications such as CIMA or ACCA, especially for finance or strategy-focused positions. Namibian employers often verify qualifications through the Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA) or the relevant foreign credential evaluation body.

Graduates often support academic administration, assist with student engagement, help coordinate workshops or industry events, and contribute to curriculum development or research projects under supervision. Tasks may include liaising with local businesses, preparing reports for accreditation bodies like the NQA or HEQSF, and supporting faculty with teaching materials aligned with Namibian higher education standards. Flexibility and responsiveness to stakeholder needs—especially from students, lecturers, and industry partners—are highly valued.

Namibian workplaces emphasise respect for hierarchy, punctuality, and relationship-building—graduates are expected to greet seniors appropriately and engage thoughtfully with colleagues and community stakeholders. Communication tends to be formal yet person-centred, and understanding local context—such as regional economic priorities or language diversity (e.g., English as official language, plus Oshiwambo, Afrikaans, etc.)—is essential.
