The Namibia Red Cross Society (NRCS) is a humanitarian organization established by an Act of Parliament (Act 16 of 1991). The work of the Namibia Red Cross focusses on Disaster Management as well as Health & Care as well as Food Security & Livelihoods. The NRCS is an affiliate of the International Federation of the Red Cross / Red Crescent (IFRC) and works closely with other partner National Societies within the Red Cross/Red Crescent (RCRC) RCRC movement, and is also recognized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The work of the NRCS is guided by the following RCRC fundamental principles: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality. The NRCS is led by its Secretary General and has its headquarters in Windhoek and operates in 09 regions.
The Namibia Red Cross Society is looking to recruit competent and motivated candidates to fill the following two (02) positions:
POSITION: SAFETY & INCLUSIVITY (S & I) CO-ORDINATOR
Duty Station: WINDHOEK
Duration: 1 year with the possibility of extension based
on performance and availability of funding
Duties and Responsibilities:
Putting in place standards and procedures for PSEAH, as part of HR policy and practices; through orientation and induction material and training; through volunteer training and codes of conduct: board training and codes of conduct.
Developing strategies, systems, and procedures to respond to SEAH, including developing complaint mechanisms and establishing stakeholder relationships and agreements with authorized institutions, with respect to investigations of PSEAH-related complaints and victim/survivor assistance.
• Establish a mechanism to monitor the progress of the NS in respective of promoting safeguarding, inclusivity, and PSEAH.
Minimum Education and Experience:
• University degree or equivalent in a field related to Social Work and/or Psychology and/or Life Skills teaching and commensurate experience.
• Experience in the field of child protection, prevention of sexual and gender-based violence; promotion of diversity and inclusivity.
Experience working with national and local governments; community stakeholders; and with relevant public and private sector stakeholders
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
• Excellent communication skills; cultural sensitivity and awareness
• Fluently spoken and written in English as well as other Namibian languages spoken in the regions in which the NRCS is present
• Valid driver’s license
