PAYROLL OFFICER

A National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is commonly expected. Relevant certifications such as the Namibian Institute of Accountants (NIA) payroll short courses or international credentials like the CIPP (Certified International Payroll Professional) add value, especially given Namibia’s evolving payroll legislation including the Labour Act and Income Tax Act.

Daily tasks include processing monthly salaries, calculating statutory deductions (e.g., NSSA, PAYE, UIF-equivalent contributions), and ensuring compliance with Namibian tax and labour regulations. You’ll also reconcile payroll data with finance systems, respond to employee payroll queries, and prepare reports for internal audit or the Namibian Revenue Agency (NamRA).

Punctuality, discretion, and accuracy are highly valued due to the sensitive nature of payroll data and strict statutory deadlines in Namibia.
