TransNamib is the national railway service operator in Namibia, specializing in the transportation of bulk and containerized freight. The company has embarked upon a program to recreate the catalytic role of railway services to the Namibian transport and logistics system through the development of reliable and cost-effective movement of cargo in Namibia.
Role Overview
As the CEO, you will lead the organization with a vision for excellence, ensuring the seamless integration and optimization of rail and road transportation services. You will collaborate closely with government stakeholders, industry partners, and our dedicated team to enhance efficiency, implement strategic initiatives, and drive the company’s growth in the transportation sector.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a robust strategic plan in alignment with national transportation policies and objectives.
Champion innovation and modernization efforts to enhance the company’s services and infrastructure.
Foster a culture of safety, quality, and customer-centricity to deliver exceptional transportation experiences.
Drive financial performance, budget adherence, and cost optimization strategies.
Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government entities and regulatory authorities.
Lead and inspire a diverse team of professionals, ensuring a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Identify and manage risks while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.
Represent the company in industry forums, conferences, and negotiations.
Qualifications and Experience
Master’s degree in business administration, transportation management, engineering, or a related field.
Proven record of accomplishment of at least ten (10) years in senior executive leadership roles, with experience in the transportation sector being highly desirable.
Strong financial acumen and experience managing substantial budgets and resources.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Visionary thinking with a strategic mindset to drive organizational growth and development.
Understanding of state-owned enterprises, public policy, and government regulations.
Location
The position is based at our headquarters in Windhoek, with the potential for some national and international travel.
