VACANCY: GROUP COORDINATOR AT N/A’AN KU SE GROUP OF COMPANIES
An exciting and challenging opportunity is available for a Group Coordinator to join our team. The
successful incumbent will be based at the N/a’an Ku Se Kanaan Desert Retreat, 550km from Windhoek.
Main Responsibilities (but not limited to):
Being the main point of contact for any scheduled groups during their visit.
Creating the schedules and itineraries for groups before their arrival
Assist with the successful running of the volunteer programme, by coordinating groups of volunteers of different nationalities, ages, and skill levels.
Conduct research within the property to assist with reserve management decisions or to obtain data required as part of current research goals.
Assist in giving educational presentations
Any other tasks that may be reasonably expected
Research admin
Running volunteer groups effectively
Camera trap and CT card sorting.
Hikes with the volunteers
Upkeep of vehicles
Helping management when needed
Conduct weekly volunteer transfers.
Entertainment of volunteers.
Have extensive knowledge of Microsoft programs.
Give feedback to Research department.
Working with sales for the volunteers
Developing new volunteer activities.
Job requirements:
A FGASA qualification of any level is highly advantageous.
2+ years of proven experience of being employed as a field guide/ tour guide or researcher on a reserve.
Must be friendly, have a positive demeanour and be an excellent team player.
Must be excellent at time management and have experience in logistical management of small teams/groups of people.
Must be excellent in spontaneous and innovative problem solving and able to adjust the program according to the circumstances.
Willingness to live and work in remote areas.
Able to work long hours and be able to work under pressure.
Able to undertake physical work in the sun.
Being a holder of a valid driver’s license and a PDP
Must be fluent in English, and have excellent written-, oral- and interpersonal skills.
Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with international guests of various ages and nationalities.
Must have extensive knowledge of Microsoft programs.
Must have a valid first aid certificate.
Remuneration:
A salary in line with experience and qualifications of the applicant
– Meals and accommodation will be provided.
– Membership of the Naankuse Medical Aid Group at own cost
