Key Responsibilities
- Sorting, picking, verifying, and packing of consignments
- Scanning of consignments
- Labelling of parcels with barcode stickers
- Efficient and effective loading/offloading of vehicles, reporting damages/anomalies to supervisor immediately.
- Housekeeping – keeping working area clean and neat
- Comparing waybills, client documentation to freight/consignment loaded and/or delivered
- Adhering to health and safety regulations
- Adhering to security measures including inspections and quality checks
- Other general duties in line with the responsibilities and scope of a Freight Controller.
Requirements
- A valid Grade 10/12 certificate
- 1-2 years’ experience will be an added advantage
- Computer literacy in Microsoft office
- Proficient in English and Afrikaans
- Willingness to work overtime and shifts
- Physically fit to be able to handle large and heavy freight
- Attention to detail, whilst be a reliable, accurate and dependable person
- Friendly disposition with Good English communication skills – understand, read and write
- Ability to work under pressure
- Able to accept and execute instructions
- Willingness to listen and learn
- Police clearance certificate (not older than 3 months) – No criminal record
- Namibia Citizenship
