Emms Cubango Eco Camp offers an authentic, eco-conscious lodge experience focused on sustainability, nature, and exceptional hospitality. We pride ourselves on delivering memorable guest experiences in a unique natural setting. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary department and create an exceptional dining experience. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping our food offering, incorporating fresh, garden-grown produce and maintaining high standards across all kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute seasonal, lodge-appropriate menus
- Lead, mentor, and manage the kitchen team
- Oversee food cost control, stock management, and supplier relationships
- Ensure exceptional food quality, presentation, and hygiene standards
- Maintain compliance with food safety regulations
- Collaborate with lodge management on guest experiences and special events
Requirements
- Qualified Chef with a minimum of 3+ years in a senior kitchen leadership role
- Proven experience in hospitality (lodge, fine dining, or boutique environments preferred)
- Strong leadership, menu planning, and cost control skills
- Excellent organizational and kitchen administration abilities
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a remote, live-in environment
