Logistics Administrator
Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the incumbent takes administrative responsibility of all aspects of Ohorongo Cement’s logistics operations which includes Assets, Stock, Health & Safety, Road & Rail transport coordination and Logistics support optimization. The incumbent will maintain clarity and precision in all transactions and to ensure that accurate records are kept and updated daily. The job holder will ensure effective systems and methods to be in place regarding all administrative matters relating to logistics. He or she will ensure that all clerical tasks within logistics administration are carried out in accordance with Company policies. This position is Windhoek based.
Responsibilities
• Ensure effective and efficient stock control.
• Do monthly stock forecasting for depots and communicate to relevant parties.
• Coordinate the rail operation together with TransNamib to ensure effective loading and offloading of the rail wagons.
• Control bulk cement to ensure depot(s) bulk silos are replenished and kept full optimal level.
• Ensure that stock is received on SAP when it arrives at depots.
• Conduct daily stock checks to ensure physical stock is complied with SAP stock figures and report any stock variance ASAP.
• Responsible for fuel stock control at the depots & ensure diesel for the forklifts is properly reconciled.
• Ensure that forklift operators received necessary training, certification and obtain valid operator’s cards.
• Coordinate the distribution of the bulk cement.
• Coordinate the allocation of the bulk tankers in liaison with the transporters and sales department.
• Ensure accurate and on-time processing of the Loading list and Delivery notes.
• Control the accurate and on-time processing of the Loading list and Delivery note.
• Responsible for control of the administration of pallets.
• Capture and verify transport invoices.
• Avoidance of truck over-loading (in-line with legal requirements)
• Control of truck-load safeguarding (in-line with legal requirements)
Requirements
• Relevant qualification in Supply Chain or Logistics with minimum three (3) years’ practical experience in logistics/transport administration or co-ordination.
• Technical understanding of the process flow during loading and off-loading of materials.
• Knowledge in SAP SD.
• Must be computer literate with the ability to use MS Office.
• Ability to work under pressure and independently with limited supervision.
• Strong communication skills, organized, thorough, system orientated with meticulous attention to detail.
• Fluency in English is a prerequisite.
