BOARD VACANCIES – NAMIBIAN PORTS AUTHORITY (NAMPORT)

Ministry of Public Enterprises (MPE) hereby invites Namibian Citizens who are competent, have a strong

ma on for ethical leadership and suitably qualified to apply for consideration for appointment as Board Members of NAMPORT. The term of the Board shall be three (3) years from the date of appointment.

Specific Expertise and Qualification Requirements

Port Marine/Management

A person with a Master’s Degree in Port/Harbour/Marine Management with at least 5 years
industry experience. Detailed knowledge of the Marine Industry and expertise in sea time and sailing
will be an added advantage.

Transport and Logistic Management

Required Master’s Degree in Transport/Logistics with at least 5 years Industry experience in
Transport Management and export/import logistics.

Marketing

Required Master’s Degree in Business Development/Marketing with at least 5 years.

Experience in international marketing and trade.

ICT

Required Master’s Degree in ICT with at least 5 years Industry practice.

Finance

A Registered Chartered Accountant (CA) with 10 years executive experience.

Minimum Experience Required

• At least five years’ experience at senior management or executive level.
• Experience as a board member will be an added advantage.

Generic Requirements

Applicants should possess extensive knowledge in the ports industry and should be familiar with good corporate governance common principles. Exhibit independence, objectivity and a commitment to the Company’s Corporate Governance Guidelines and its Code of Conduct and Ethics: Personal qualities of intelligence, self-assuredness, inter-personal skills, commitment, communication skills and problem-solving skills. Ability to develop and maintain a good working relationship with the other members of the Board and with the senior management of the Company.
