Daily tasks include greeting walk-in and phone enquiries, demonstrating pre-owned vehicles, explaining financing and insurance options through local banks or finance houses, and completing sale documentation in compliance with Namibian Consumer Protection Regulations. Consultants also participate in weekly stock audits and attend internal product briefings, often working extended hours during weekends and public holidays when customer traffic peaks.

Namibian dealerships emphasise relationship-based selling rooted in trust and personal engagement, reflecting local cultural values of respect and ubuntu. Punctuality, professional appearance (including adherence to company-branded attire), and fluency in English plus at least one local language (e.g., Oshiwambo, Afrikaans, or Otjiherero) are commonly expected to serve diverse customer groups effectively.

High-performing consultants may advance to Senior Sales Consultant, Sales Team Leader, or Used Vehicle Department Supervisor roles—often requiring proven sales consistency and internal assessments. Some transition into related areas such as Finance & Insurance (F&I) advisory, fleet sales, or dealership management training programmes offered through industry bodies like NAFA (Namibian Automotive Federation).

Most established Namibian dealerships offer at least 20 days’ annual leave, sick leave in line with the Labour Act, and participation in a registered medical aid scheme—though contribution levels vary by employer.
