Department :HOUSING, PROPERTY MANAGEMENT AND HUMAN SETTLEMENT
To facilitate the implementation of programs and projects aimed at improving the living condition in various communities in Windhoek, with special focus on informal settlements.
Key Performance Areas
Supervise the work/ job of Assistant Community Development Officers in his/her team
Facilitate the implementation of the Informal Settlement Upgrading and Development Strategy
Conduct research and need assessments in order to determine appropriate possible intervention required to improve the standard of living in various communities
Design, develop and implement socio-economic programs and projects in informal settlements
Facilitate the establishment of community leadership structures as well as the implementation of capacity building programs for informal settlement community leaders and saving groups
Empower communities to acquire land through saving group initiatives
Co-ordinate the provision and maintenance of water and sanitation facilities in specific informal settlement area
Skills, Experience & Education
Grade 12 (Equivalent) & three (3) year tertiary qualification in Community Development or Land Management or any Social Science with three (3) years job related experience. Code BE drivers license.
