Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement risk-based security strategies across supermarkets and associated properties
- Provide operational oversight of security deployment and effectiveness across multiple sites
- Ensure consistent implementation of security SOPs, including access control, searches, cash escorts and opening/closing procedures
- Develop and manage site-specific guarding plans based on risk exposure
- Manage and evaluate third-party security service providers and monitor SLA compliance
- Conduct security inspections and audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Direct and oversee responses to serious incidents, including theft, armed robbery, fraud, internal misconduct and safety incidents
- Oversee investigations, evidence collection, documentation and post-incident reviews
- Manage and maintain electronic security systems, including CCTV, alarms and access control
- Compile security reports and monitor risk exposure, shrinkage indicators and control effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with company policies, security regulations and relevant labour legislation
- Lead and manage the security team, including performance management, coaching, training, discipline and development
- Manage staff deployment, duty rosters, overtime, leave and resource utilisation
- Liaise with NAMPOL, security networks, community forums and other external stakeholders
- Support new store openings, process improvements and risk mitigation initiatives
- Ensure security operations contribute to reducing shrinkage, preventing incidents and protecting company assets
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Security Management, Risk Management, Criminology, Law Enforcement, or a related field
- 7 years’ experience in security and loss prevention, of which at least 5 years must be in a management role
- OR Grade 12 with formal security management or loss control certifications and 12-15 years’ progressive experience in security operations, of which at least 7 years must be at management level
- Proven experience in retail and property security environments
- Experience with electronic surveillance systems, including CCTV, access control, alarms and tracking systems
- Experience in incident investigations, shrinkage control and liaison with law enforcement
- Code BE Driver’s Licence
- Namibian citizen / permanent resident;
