SALES MANAGER

 

Position Purpose & Summary

 

The incumbent will be responsible for managing key accounts for all market segments within the salt industry, as well as developing and implementing a targeted and focused sales strategy for identified markets.

 

The key performance areas include:

 

• Key account management for identified customers, analysing client-related information and developing strategies to preserve the customer-company relationship;
• Setting objectives and strategies to ensure key clients receive consistent, service and attention;
• Maintaining and ensuring continuous growth of markets in agreement with company strategies;
• Defining and achieving specific sales, market share and profit margins;
• Managing the divisional contribution through better cost management and the maximisation of both volumes and margins;
• Developing and implementing national marketing strategies;
• Implementing and controlling marketing activities and sales strategy;
• Competitor analysis and keeping abreast of market developments and trends;
• Administration and negotiation of price

 

The ideal incumbent should meet the following criteria:

 

• Related tertiary qualification in marketing, commercial and/or technical field (or related);
• Experience in Sales Management and Key Account Management specifically;
• Proven track record;
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the industry;
• Financially astute with sound forecasting and budgeting knowledge and experience;
• Prepared to travel extensively
• Negotiation skills
