HEALTH PROFESSIONS COUNCIL OF NAMIBIA (HPCNA) (Established by the Health Professions Act no 16 of 2024). The purpose of this circular from the Office of the Registrar is to inform all Regional Directorates, Senior Medical Superintendents, and Matrons/Hospital Managers about the newly enacted regulations regarding official forms and licensing requirements under the Health Professions Act.
Key Responsibilities
- To ensure registered staff members submit their applications for professional licences and pay the required fees.
- This licence must be acquired before the 20th of March 2026 to maintain lawful practice status.
Requirements
- All required documents or information must be submitted with the application form.
- Proof of payment of the application fee must be provided.
- Compliance with Regulations relating to fees payable to the Council.
- In terms of section 43(7), any registered person who clinically examines, treats a patient, or provides health care services is required to acquire a licence to practise his or her profession.
