Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-, second-, and where required third-level technical support to users.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Administer and support Microsoft Windows Server environments.
- Manage and troubleshoot Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and user accounts.
- Perform user onboarding, offboarding, account creation, permissions, and access management.
- Troubleshoot Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Install, configure, and maintain network equipment including switches, wireless access points, routers, and firewalls.
- Troubleshoot LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and Internet connectivity issues.
- Monitor and maintain servers, workstations, network infrastructure, and other IT systems.
- Assist with backup and recovery operations and ensure backups are functioning correctly.
- Assist with cybersecurity controls, endpoint protection, patch management, and vulnerability remediation.
- Install and maintain software applications and ensure appropriate licensing compliance.
- Perform hardware and software upgrades and preventative maintenance.
- Maintain accurate IT asset, configuration, and documentation records.
- Assist with IT projects, system implementations, upgrades, and infrastructure changes.
- Liaise with external IT vendors and service providers where required.
- Escalate complex incidents appropriately and follow incidents through to resolution.
- Maintain IT documentation, procedures, network diagrams, and technical records.
- Provide technical assistance remotely and onsite.
- Ensure IT systems remain secure, available, and operational.
- Participate in after-hours support or standby duties when required.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an IT Technician, IT Support, Systems Administrator, or similar role.
- Demonstrable hands-on experience administering Microsoft Windows Server.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory.
- Experience with Group Policy (GPO).
- Good understanding of DNS and DHCP.
- Strong Microsoft Windows desktop troubleshooting skills.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 / Office 365 environments.
- Good understanding of TCP/IP networking.
- Experience troubleshooting switches, routers, wireless networks, and VPN connectivity.
- Experience with hardware troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Understanding of backup and disaster recovery principles.
- Experience with endpoint security and antivirus/EDR solutions.
- Good understanding of IT security best practices.
- Experience with remote support tools.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems independently.
- Strong documentation and administrative skills.
- A valid driver’s licence is required.
