Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed site surveys and client needs assessments to inform AV system design.
• Produce comprehensive system designs, signal flow diagrams, rack layouts and Bills of Materials.
• Scope and specify video conferencing systems, voice conferencing systems, presentation systems, digital signage and integrated AV control systems.
• Collaborate with clients and internal project managers to develop solution proposals and technical specifications for tender submissions.
• Provide technical advisory on large and complex AV deployments, including multi-room, campus-wide and hybrid meeting environments.
• Recommend fit-for-purpose AV products and platforms based on client requirements, budget and environment.
• Install, configure and commission video conferencing endpoints, including codec units, cameras, displays, microphones and speakers.
• Deploy and commission voice conferencing systems, including IP or analogue conference phones, DSP units and microphone arrays.
• Install AV control systems, including touch panels, control processors and automation logic programming.
• Perform structured cabling for AV systems, including HDMI, HDBaseT, SDI, audio cabling and control wiring.
• Integrate AV systems with IT networks, unified communications platforms and telephony infrastructure.
• Conduct commissioning tests, audio tuning and video quality validation before client handover.
• Provide first- and second-line technical support for installed AV systems.
• Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules for AV systems across client sites.
• Perform firmware updates, software upgrades and system optimisation.
• Liaise with vendors and manufacturers for warranty claims and technical support.
• Maintain accurate service records, fault logs and maintenance reports.
• Present AV system designs and solution proposals to clients in a clear, professional manner.
• Provide end-user training and handover documentation upon project completion.
• Prepare as-built documentation, commissioning reports and O&M manuals.

Requirements

• National Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• Equivalent demonstrable professional experience may be considered.
• Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience in AV system installation and commissioning.
• Proven experience with video conferencing platforms and room systems such as Cisco, Poly, Logitech, Yealink, Aver or similar.
• Experience with voice conferencing systems, including DSP configuration and audio tuning.
• Demonstrated ability to read and produce AV system designs, signal flow diagrams and technical documentation.
• Valid Namibian driver’s licence.
• Manufacturer certifications such as Crestron Certified Programmer, Extron AV Associate, Biamp Certified Designer, QSC Level 1/2, or equivalent.
• Microsoft Teams Rooms or Zoom Rooms deployment experience.
• CTS certification from AVIXA, or working towards it.
• Experience integrating AV systems with IT networks, VLANs and unified communications platforms.
• Exposure to large-scale or multi-site AV deployments in corporate, government or education environments.
• Project management experience or familiarity with AV project delivery methodologies.
• Video and voice conferencing system design.
• AV control system programming.
• DSP audio configuration and tuning.
• UC platform integration, including Teams, Zoom and Webex.
• AV signal routing and distribution.
• Structured cabling for AV.
