CREDIT AND COLLECTIONS OFFICER – PostFin

PostFin Department: CREDIT AND COLLECTION DEPARTMENT
Location: Windhoek

Primary purpose of position:
To ensure that the necessary steps (pre-legal and legal) are taken in the collection of all Loan payments due, submit credit life and estate claims, evaluate loan applications in terms of PostFin’s policies and procedures.

Key Performance areas:
• Perform loan evaluations in accordance with the PostFin’s Credit Policy and Credit Practises.
• Dailly collections follow ups on arrear accounts.
• Ensure the timeous submission of claims against the Insurance and the Estate.
• Implementing further collections processes when required.

Educational and experience requirements:
• Grade 12 (minimum), additional accounting and/or banking related qualifications would be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 2 years working experience in the financial services industry, specifically in the area of Collections (legal and pre-legal), Financial Analysis (evaluation and recommendation of credit facilities) as well as the completion and submission of Credit Life insurance claims as well as claims against Late client’s estates.
• Computer literacy with experience in all Microsoft products.

Skills, Knowledge- & Personality requirements:
1. A thorough knowledge of credit & collections in the financial services industry.
2. Incumbent must be well acquainted with PostFin’s products and services.
3. Excellent communication skills: English language proficiency is required (other languages would be an added advantage).
4. Analytical and logical thinker who is attentive to detail.
5. Emotionally mature, outgoing, self-motivated, responsive, assertive, able to handle pressure, honest, sincere, innovative, able to work without supervision.

Other:
1. Driving License (Code B). Must be willing to use own transport for work purposes (a vehicle and or transport allowance will be includ¬ed in the package).
2. Must be willing to work overtime on short notice.
3. Must be a Namibian citizen.
