REPORTS TO: HEAD OF UNIT, MENTAL HEALTH & PSS
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To observe patients in various situations; selects, administer, and interpret intelligence, personality,
or other psychological tests to diagnose disorders and formulate plans of treatment, and provides
consultation with other mental health professionals with regard to test results.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE OF
» At least 3 years or more experience in a clinical environment;
» Good communication skills;
» Empathetic;
» Ability to speak English;
» Excellent interpersonal/ skills;
» Flexible team player;
» Good time management and organizational skills;
» Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications;
» Good interpersonal skills;
» Critical thinking.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
» Identify psychological, emotional, or behavioral issues;
» Diagnose psychological, emotional, or behavioral disorders;
» Develop and implement treatment plans and therapeutic processes;
» Help clients define goals and plan action to achieve personal, social, educational and
vocational development and adjustment;
» Monitor client progress through regular meetings or sessions;
» Maintain client records by reviewing case notes;
» Logging events and progress of clients;
» Developing, monitoring, and evaluating treatment plans.

» Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality;
» Willingness to travel;
» Youth friendliness and non-judgemental attitude towards young people;
» Exercise ethical practices, respectful conduct and behavior towards internal and external
stakeholders, and equitable treatment of others in all activities.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
» Bachelor of Psychology;
» Master of Psychology will be added advantage;
» Member of relevant councils including the HPCNA.
