Key Responsibilities
- As deputy of the Manager, the Chief Medical Technologist may be assigned specific duties or projects and is required to work closely with other supervisors to ensure that strategic goals of the Technical division are met.
- The incumbent will also be required to stand- in and carry out duties of the Manager of Donation Testing and Component Processing Division if and when the incumbent is absent from duty.
- The successful candidate will be required to work a forty-hour week, with a strong possibility of overtime, including work on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays and day / night shift work as well as being available 24/7 to attend to technical or medical queries as may be required from time to time.
Requirements
- Medical Laboratory Science or Biomedical Science Degree with a speciality in Immunohaematology
- Registered with the Health Professions Council of Namibia in the Blood Transfusion category
- Seven years post-qualification experience in a Blood Transfusion environment of which five years are in a supervisory capacity
- Relevant computer skills
- Code 8 driver’s license
- Namibian citizen or permanent residency
