Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair biomedical, laboratory, and medical equipment in line with manufacturer specifications and applicable standards.
- Provide technical support and training to customers, end users, and internal teams where required.
- Prepare accurate service reports, maintenance records, calibration documentation, and technical feedback within required timeframes.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Liaise professionally with customers, suppliers, and service partners to resolve technical matters efficiently.
- Assist with equipment evaluations, project implementation, stock control, spare parts planning, and technical documentation.
- Maintain a professional, customer-focused approach while working independently and as part of a technical team.
Requirements
- Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Medical Technology, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a biomedical, laboratory, healthcare, technical service, or medical equipment environment.
- Strong understanding of biomedical, diagnostic, laboratory and medical equipment, including installation, preventative maintenance, calibration, fault finding, and repair procedures.
- Computer literate, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, service reports, technical documentation, and equipment management systems.
- Valid Namibian driver’s licence and willingness to travel countrywide when required.
- Registration with the Health Professions Councils of Namibia (HPCNA), where applicable, will be an added advantage.
- Excellent diagnostic, fault-finding, and problem-solving skills.
- Sound technical knowledge of electronics, IT hardware, software, networking basics, and instrument interfaces.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and customer-orientated approach.
- Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work under pressure in a service-driven environment.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, safety instructions, and manufacturer documentation.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and willingness to continuously develop technical knowledge.
