Key Responsibilities
- Calculating and invoicing statutory levies accurately and within prescribed timeframes.
- Verifying levy returns and supporting documentation received from producers, importers, auctioneers and abattoirs.
- Reconciling levy information, permits and source documents.
- Maintaining accurate debtor records and following up on outstanding accounts.
- Liaising with producers, importers, border officials, auctioneers, abattoirs and other stakeholders regarding levy returns and account queries.
- Maintaining complete and accurate financial records and filing systems.
- Assisting with inventory counts and other finance-related administrative functions.
- Performing other finance-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A Diploma in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
- A minimum of two (2) years’ relevant experience in an accounting or finance environment, with practical experience in at least three of the following:
- Debtors or accounts receivable administration;
- Invoicing and billing;
- Financial reconciliations;
- Revenue administration;
- Financial record keeping;
- Processing financial transactions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with a computerised accounting or financial management system (Pastel).
- Experience within a statutory body, public enterprise or regulatory environment-involving levy, tax or revenue administration will be an added advantage.
