Appointment Requirements: A B Degree at NOF Level 7, in Computer Science, Management Information System/Business Computing, or equivalent plus 9 years appropriate experience, of which 3 years must be at Supervisory level.
Additional requirements: BSc/ BA in Computer Science. Computer Engineering. Computer Business Management; MSc/MA will be advantageous.
Job Description:
- Overseeing all IT operations and evaluating them according to Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources established goals.
- Devising and establishing IT internal policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by MFMR management.
- Analyzing the IT requirements of all directorates to determine their needs.
- Purchase efficient and cost effective IT equipment and software.
- Inspect the use of IT equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency.
- Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to Senior Management.
- Coordinate and supervise the activities carried out by IT Personnel.
- Control budgets and report on expenditure.
- Assist in building relationships with IT vendors/retail and creating cost-efficient IT projects.
Job Competencies:
- Proven experience as IT Deputy Director or similar role.
- Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications.
- Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc.
- Experience in controlling information technology budget.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Outstanding communication abilities.
