EXTERNAL ACCOUNT MANAGER – acunam

Key Responsibilities

• Serve assigned managed accounts and contribute to the collective effort to achieve organisational goals.
• Maintain and update the company CRM, ensuring accurate records of completed tasks, customer visits, calls, leads, sales figures, and information relating to assigned managed accounts.
• Assist with monthly debt collection activities as required.
• Provide the Finance Department with accurate and timely feedback regarding payment forecasts.
• Work closely with the Legal and Finance teams to finalise agreements and contracts.
• Assist the Logistics team with procurement and inventory receiving.
• Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless product and service delivery.
• Keep customers informed of product estimated times of arrival (ETAs).
• Cultivate strong relationships with existing clients by understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
• Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities to maximise account value.
• Assist with regular client check-ins and address customer concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with the Sales team to meet revenue targets and support sales initiatives.
• Assist in preparing sales plans, proposals, and presentations, and support contract maintenance.
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of products and services.
• Proactively identify additional products and services that align with client needs.
• Support the implementation of market sales strategies to achieve company sales targets and profitability.
• Assist with planning and executing marketing initiatives and events.
• Track, manage, update, and maintain the sales pipeline and forecasts.

Requirements

• 3-5 years’ sales experience within the IT market.
• Sales certifications from at least three key vendors.
• Proven experience as an External Account Manager or Senior Sales Executive.
• Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in CRM software and other relevant sales tools.
• Strategic thinking and the ability to analyse market trends.
• Familiarity with financial processes and procedures.
• Understanding of basic financial and mathematical principles related to procurement through to invoicing.
• Understanding of the implications and controls relating to fluctuations in the rate of exchange.
• Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to address customer needs creatively.
• Understanding of relevant industry certifications and qualifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Willingness to stay informed about emerging industry practices and technologies.
• Experience in client management, including effective communication and coordination with internal teams.
• Availability for international travel, including possession of the necessary travel documentation.
