Job Description

To manage the operation of the electric network and ensure continuous power supply to customers.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

Implements & manages guidelines for the effective control of the network.

Manages emergency shutdowns and power failures, reports outages and proposes improvements to eliminate unforeseen outages.

Manages planned power shutdowns.

Ensures all computerized control systems are operative, updated and utilized effectively.

Provides training to electricians on operating and switching on the electrical network.

Compose & interprets data, reports on system performance, maximum demand and network inefficiencies and proposes improvements to effectively control electrical network.

Manages the section.

Skills, Experience & Education

B-Tech Degree Electrical High Voltage and Heavy Current with five (5) years job related experience. Eligible to be registered / Registered as Incorporated Engineer with the Engineering Council of Namibia with a Code BE drivers license. Pre-appointment training as an added advantage: Switching & Operating of Electrical network, SCADA system training, Power system software knowledge & utilisation, ripple control training, customer care training.
