Salary Scale : N$ 277 264 – 331 358per annum
Transport Allowance: N$ 8 760 per annum
Housing Allowance: N$ 14 520 per annum
Qualifications, experience, and skills:
• A National Diploma at NQF level 6 in the following field of study: Nature Conservation,
Wildlife Management, Protected Areas Management, Conservation Biology,
Environmental Management or related biodiversity management field, plus three (3)
year’s appropriate experience. Serving staff members must have their probation
confirmed at the level of Warden Grade 9 plus three (3) years of appropriate experience.
Additional requirements:
• A valid Code BE Driver’s license.
Job description:
• Develop Human Wildlife Conflict solutions for regions and implement the “Guidelines
and Measures for Implementation of the Revised National Policy on Human Wildlife
Conflict Management”.
• Conduct community awareness on Human Wildlife Conflict (HWC) Management,
determine long-term trends, and establish a National HWC database and mapping.
• Identify areas with chronic problems as HWC zones and provide the necessary support.
• Training of staff members, conservancies, and community in the respective regions on
problem animal control and the SMART system on predators and large herbivores.
• Develop and implement technical solutions and mitigation measures to reduce HWC
(kraaling, predator-proof enclosures, protection of crops, collaring, and early warning
systems).
• Attend to HWC claims and forward them to Game Products Trust Fund (GPTF) for
payments (outside and inside conservancies).
• Monitor and evaluate the effective implementation of programs and advise accordingly.
