Job Description:
The incumbent will be responsible for maintenance, preventative maintenance and repair of all electrical equipment, apparatus, installation of new equipment and attend to breakdowns. This position is based between Tsumeb & Otavi, at Plant Sargberg.
Responsibilities
· Perform preventative maintenance through scheduled inspections, servicing, adjustments, troubleshooting, and timely repair of the Cement plant equipment.
· Diagnosis faults and effect repairs to electrical equipment & field devices.
· Provide working knowledge of all tasks, instructions and procedures when carrying out maintenance tasks.
· Installation of new equipment or upgrades.
· Ensures that maintenance spares are available and adhered to quality and standards required.
· Ensures communication with colleagues when stopping equipment for maintenance purposes and restarting on completion of lock-out.
· Complies with health and safety regulations and adhere to occupational hazards and safety precautions.
· Maintain a high level of housekeeping and accurate record keeping wherever work is carried out.
· Follows and adheres to the relevant electrical regulations and guidelines.
· Perform standby duties and overtime when required or requested to do so.
· Execution of any ad hoc work-related tasks as requested by the Plant Manager, Electrical & Automation Maintenance Manager, or his representatives.
Requirements
· N3 or Grade 12 with relevant trade diploma.
· Minimum five (5) years electrical maintenance experience, after trade qualification.
· Good understanding of the tools. Equipment, and materials common to the electrical trade.
· Good understanding of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
· Good understanding of electrical application for high and low voltage electric system.
· Certificate of completion of the Namibia Electricity Safety Codes training would be an advantage.
· Skills in the installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of electrical system equipment and components.
· Prior experience on VFD drives, Simocode, MV motors, MV/HV Switching operations would be required.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills.
· Organize and plan work received from supervisor.
· Ability to work extremely accurately.
· Fluency in English is a prerequisite.
· Must be able to work independently, but also in team situations.
· Not afraid to work on heights and in confined spaces.
· Must be honest and trustworthy.
· Code BE drivers’ license.
