GRADUATE TRAINEE: OCCUPATIONAL HYGIENE
The incumbent will report to the Superintendent: Occupational Hygiene and be
accountable for:
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Legal, safety, health and environmental compliance as well as promoting a safety
culture, systems, and design in the area of responsibility.
• Lead by example through living the company purpose and values.
• Engage with employees and stakeholders with regards to occupational hygiene and
related matters.
• Collect and report on information related to occupational hygiene.
• Support the Health and Hygiene section with occupational hygiene issues.
• Conduct HSE inspections in areas of accountability.
• Perform risk assessments, monitoring, data collection and surveys with regards to
occupational hygiene in areas of accountability.
• Capture monitoring data, and findings, into databases, spreadsheets, recordkeeping systems (including data from external sources).
• Ensure utilization of the IMS and digitalization concerns to improve and maintain the
system as it relates to occupational hygiene.
• Assist with campaigns, projects, reporting and other operational activities, as and
when required.
• Maintain registration with South African Institute of Occupational Hygiene and other
professional bodies.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• A BSc Degree, BTech degree in Occupational Hygiene, Environmental Health, or
closely related health/HSE discipline.
• Registration with SAIOH/HPCNA.
• 1 year experience in an Occupational Hygiene function.
• Ability to manage schedules and programmes
Good communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office).
• Valid code B driver’s license.
