Job Description
Debmarine Namibia requires the services of a Technician: Security.
The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring maximum technical system availability by performing maintenance, diagnosing faults and repairing equipment.
The successful candidate will be required to spend a minimum of 28 days at sea followed by a maximum of 28 days ashore.
IN YOUR ROLE AS TECHNICIAN: SECURITY YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO:
Ensures the availability of technical systems by:
• Performing planned maintenance to suit equipment requirements, repairing technical systems faults and performing checks on equipment.
• In addition to that, the incumbent will be responsible for diagnosing system-based faults, assessing cost effectiveness of repairing equipment; ensuring that systems operations are restored with minimal delay and disruption.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, installation drawings and circuit diagrams.
• Assist with planning in order to maintain an adequate supply of spares, equipment and material.
• Monitor and update changes to engineering drawings due to changes on installations.
• Complete daily completion reports and monthly voyage reports and the signing of job cards
THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES ARE KEY TO THIS POSITION
• Analytical abilities, judgement and knowledge of information systems.
• Must be self-motivator and able to work without supervision.
• Knowledge of Access Control, CCTV System and Information Technology systems will be an added advantage.
DO YOU MEET THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS?
• Technician Diploma – (Electrical or Electronics) on NQF 6 level plus knowledge of Information Technology systems.
• Three (3) years technical experience, preferably in a security environment.
