The Opportunity
NASAN is seeking an entrepreneurial and highly strategic Managing Director (MD) to establish and lead the Company from inception. This is a rare opportunity to shape a new market entrant and build a competitive energy company from the ground up. The MD will be responsible for launching operations, setting strategy, recruiting and leading a strong team, and positioning NASAN as a trusted and innovative fuel supplier in Namibia.
Key Responsibilities
· Establish NASAN Energies’ operational, organizational, and governance structures.
· Define and execute the Company’s market entry strategy, including brand positioning and growth plans.
· Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing management team and workforce.
· Secure strong relationships with regulators, suppliers, dealers, and key stakeholders.
· Implement operational systems, processes, and standards to ensure efficiency and compliance.
· Drive financial planning, investment strategies, and commercial negotiations.
· Launch and scale NASAN as a customer-centric, competitive, and innovative retail fuel brand.
Candidate Profile
This is a role for a visionary builder – someone who thrives in dynamic environments and has the leadership capacity to establish a company from scratch while delivering rapid growth and long-term sustainability.
Requirements:
· NOF Level 9- Masters Degree in Business Administration/Master of Business Leadership or equivalent
· Minimum of 15 years Petroleum industry experience
· Minimum of 10 years of senior leadership experience in the oil & gas downstream, retail fuel, FMCG, or related sectors.
· Minimum 5 years experience functioning as an MD
· Minimum 5 years experience interacting at board level
· Strong knowledge of Namibia’s energy, retail, and regulatory environment.
· Proven track record in managing large-scale business operations, acquisitions, or organizational transformation.
· Detailed understanding of HSEQ within the context of the petroleum industry
· Exceptional stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
· Strong financial acumen with experience in driving profitability and growth.
· Commitment to empowering local participation, diversity, and sustainability.
