PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To support warehouse operations by efficiently loading and unloading raw materials and finished goods, ensuring safe handling, accurate placement, and timely movement of products within the animal feed warehouse.
KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Loading, Unloading, Re-bagging and Stacking
•Collect and stack lucerne bales in designated storage areas.
•Cover lucerne, chop and bran stacks with canvas or tarpaulin.
•Assist with packing of finished goods and raw materials in designated storage areas.
•Load finished animal feed products onto trucks for delivery and secure loads for safe transport following company procedures and work instructions.
•Unload inbound and outbound shipments of raw material and finished goods and verify against delivery documents.
•Ensure proper handling, stacking and storage to prevent contamination or damage to feed products.
•Re-bag bulk materials and damaged product bags into appropriate packaging, ensuring correct labeling and weight accuracy.
•Re-bag damaged Propet products from customers and in-store damages and ensure Propet products are accurately picked.
•Operate pallet jacks, trolleys, stackers or other material-handling equipment as needed.
•Organize, clean and store incoming pallets according to material type such as wood and steel.
•Warehouse duties
•Assist warehouse staff with general labor tasks as needed.
•Assist with inventory count and stock rotation (FIFO).
•Follow all company policies and work instructions, especially those related to hygiene, and safety.
•Cleaning
•Maintain cleanliness of loading bays, warehouse floors, and in and around warehouse by performing routine sweeping, dusting, washing of floors, surfaces (includes finished products) and pallets.
•Clean up feed spills promptly to prevent hazards or contamination and dispose of waste, packaging materials and residues in designated bins following hygiene protocols.
•Dusting, cleaning and washing of canteen, ablution blocks and dust bins and remove grass and weeds in the yard as well as cleaning of equipment used in loading areas.
•Assist with the cleaning of Feedmaster trucks.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION
•Grade 12 (NQF4) or Grade 10 (NQF2) with 2-year relevant experience.
•Proficient in written and spoken English.
•Namibian Citizen.
•A second and third language will be advantageous.
