The role is responsible for managing employee relations, payroll, compliance, and diversity and inclusion initiatives within the Bank.
It focuses on fostering accountability and creating a culture of responsibility, transparency, and outcome-based performance.
The incumbent will streamline and modernize HR operations to enhance efficiency and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards. In addition, the role is accountable for delivering effective internal stakeholder services and experiences by proactively engaging with internal clients, addressing people-related matters effectively, and ensuring that Human Capital services are business-aligned, responsive, and add measurable value to the employee experience across the Bank.
OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT
•Develop, implement, and maintain employee relations strategies, ensuring that all employee interactions reflect accountability and transparency.
•Lead and manage disciplinary hearing and grievance processes, ensuring accountability from both employees and managers in the process, while ensuring fairness and adherence to legal and Bank’s policies.
•Design and implement HR communication campaigns to keep employees informed and engaged regarding HR policies, processes, and initiatives.
•Review, make recommendations and implement the reward and remuneration strategy.
•Oversee payroll processes, ensuring consistent and accurate, timely processing of payroll in compliance with legislation, policies and standards.
•Conduct regular benefits and rewards benchmark analysis, analyze and provide recommendations.
•Establish and maintain robust controls and audit mechanisms to ensure HC full compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
•Develop and manage wellness programs, promoting employee health, well-being, and work-life balance, monitor and oversee the implementation thereof.
•Lead wellness initiatives including health screenings, awareness sessions, financial planning, and other wellness activities.
•Implement digital HR solutions to streamline processes, including employee self-service portals, AI-driven tools, and automated reporting systems.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
•Lead and coach direct reports, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
•Set performance standards and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the team, and monitor progress regularly in alignment with the annual performance review cycle.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
•A Bachelor’s degree (NQF level 7) in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field. A certificate in dispute resolution will be an added advantage.
•Minimum of 5 years of HR management experience, with 3 years at supervisory, with a focus on employee relations.
•Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
•Excellent customer orientation/focus.
•A high-level of confidentiality.
•Well-developed interpersonal sensitivity and teamwork orientation.
•A keen attention to detail.
•Excellent organizing skills.
