Barloworld Equipment represents world leading equipment brands manufactured for Earthmoving and Marine applications in Southern Africa and the world, adding value to its Customers in the Mining, Construction, Marine and Energy Industries. We provide technical and logistical support to our customers.
Reporting to the Service Supervisor. The successful incumbent will perform planned and breakdown repairs, services and maintenance on Earthmoving Equipment and components to supplier standards and customer requirements.
Key Accountabilities:
- Ensure safe work practice
- Repair and maintain earthmoving equipment
- Troubleshoot machine systems problems and failures
- Produce accurate service reports including failure analysis and investigation reports, customer oriented
- Deliver high quality service to all customers
- Ensure consistent and accurate productivity and quality standards of own work
- Must be a self-starter, able to manage own work and work independently
- Perform all other ad-hoc duties as assigned by Superior
- Think analytically and have a mechanical and practical aptitude
- Have initiative and work accurately
Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified Artisan (N3/NQF3) with at least 3 years’ post apprentice experience in the earthmoving industry
- Experience in a component (Power train, Hydraulic and Engines) rebuild workshop
- Able to understand and work from Service Manuals
- Be familiar with electrical, hydraulic, and power train principals Control contamination, own admin (Labour booking, service reports, parts return, expenses etc.)
- SIS Web and FMPR new generation SIS
Qualifications & Experience:

- SIS Web and EMPR new generation SIS
- Broad knowledge of safe handling and use of metric and imperial precision tools
- Advanced knowledge of Diesel engines, fuel systems, Powertrain, Hydraulic and electronic control systems
- Must be willing to work overtime, technical report writing Skills, good business and financial understanding
- Must be able to cope under pressure and varying workloads
- Willing to continuously learn, self-driven to acquire new soft skills and product knowledge
- Must be willing to work in a repetitive task environment
- Valid driver’s license (manual transmission)
