FITTER & TURNER – ONGOPOLO MINING LIMITED

ONGOPOLO MINING LIMITED is a mining, development, and exploration company specializing in copper mining in Namibia. The company is seeking suitably qualified candidates for various positions available at its Central Operations (Otjihase/ Matchless Mines), located 35 km outside Windhoek. With plans to restart operations, the company aims to fill positions in the Engineering Department at its Central Operations.

ROLE PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Foreman, the Fitter will maintain and repair mechanical systems, plan preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot issues to ensure operational efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct inspections and report defects to the Foreman.
• Perform scheduled surface and underground maintenance tasks.
• Maintain Otjihase Township systems as required.
• Plan and execute relevant maintenance tasks.

• Interpret technical drawings.
• Ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act (Section 29 of 1996).
• Ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act (Section 29 of 1996).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Recognized Fitter & Turner Trade Diploma with 4 technical theoretical subjects (N3 Level)

Minimum of 3 years post-trade test experience.

• Code B driver’s license.
• Hydraulics and mining/processing plant experience are advantageous.
