ONGOPOLO MINING LIMITED is a mining, development, and exploration company specializing in copper mining in Namibia. The company is seeking suitably qualified candidates for various positions available at its Central Operations (Otjihase/ Matchless Mines), located 35 km outside Windhoek. With plans to restart operations, the company aims to fill positions in the Engineering Department at its Central Operations.

ROLE PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Foreman, the Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining trackless equipment (heavy and light vehicles). ensuring adherence to safety protocols at both Otjihase and Matchless mines, surface and underground

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on heavy machinery. ensuring trucks, loaders, and drills operate efficiently.
• Maintain and repair light vehicles.

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic issues.

Conduct repairs and overhauls to ensure equipment reliability.

• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and parts inventory.
• • Ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act and mining code of practice.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Recognized Trade Diploma with 4 technical theoretical subjects (N3 Level) in Diesel Mechanics.

• Minimum of 3 years post-trade test experience.

Code C driver’s license.

Experience in hydraulics and underground mining is advantageous.
