Job description

• Measure, cut, and shape wood, plywood, and other materials to construct building structures, fixtures, and furniture.
• Install windows, doors, flooring, staircases, cabinets, and other structural and finishing components.
• Construct frameworks for buildings, including walls, ceilings, and roofs.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to ensure accurate construction and installation.
• Work closely with architects, designers, and engineers to understand design requirements and ensure the proper implementation.
• Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and machinery (e.g., saws, drills, hammers, chisels) to cut. shape, and assemble materials.
• Maintain tools and equi pment toensure safe and effective use.
• Follow safety procedures and building codes while performing all carpentry tasks.
• Ensure work sites are clean and safe, with proper handling and disposal of materials and debris.
• Create custom carpentry work such as furniture, cabinets, trim, and molding according to specific client or project needs.
• Perform detailed finish work, including sanding, staining, and painting, to ensure the highest quality appearance.
• Work closely with other team members, contractors, and project managers to ensure tasks are completed on time and according to specifications.
• Communicate progress and challenges to supervisorsand offer solutions for any issues that arise.

Requirements

• Certificate in joinery and carpentry
• Diploma will be added in advance
• Or equivalent; additional vocational training or apprenticeship in carpentry is a plus.
• 6 years of working experience as a Carpentry
• Experience in multi-story building construction and experience in working for large projects costing over N$200 million.
