Job description

• Lay bricks, concrete blocks, and stone according to blueprints, building plans, and local building codes. Ensure walls and other structures are level, plumb, and properly aligned.
• Prepare mortar by mixing sand, cement, and water in the right proportions. Apply mortar to hold bricks and blocks together.
• Measure and cut bricks, blocks, and stones to the appropriate size using hand tools or machinery, ensuring accurate fitting and alignment.
• Construct or repair walls, chimneys, arches, and other brick or stone structures, ensuring structural integrity and aesthetic appeal.
• Interpret construction blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure the correct installation of brick and block work.
• Follow all safety protocols and building regulations on-site. Ensure the workspace is clean, organized, and free from hazards. Operate heavy machinery and power tools safely.
• Collaborate with carpenters, electricians, and other construction professionals to ensure smooth project execution.
• Inspect finished work for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications. Make adjustments as necessary.

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree
• 6 years of working experience as a bricklayer
• Drive-license
