Grodt Booking Agent is a leading tourism company based in Windhoek, Namibia, specializing in providing exceptional travel experiences across Southern Africa. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our team and drive our business forward.
Position Overview:
The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our operations in Windhoek. This role demands a visionary leader with extensive experience in the tourism industry, strong strategic and operational management skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business development, operations management, team leadership, and financial management.
Key Responsibilities:
⦁ Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance business growth and market penetration within the tourism sector.
⦁ Operational Management: Oversee daily operations, including staff management, budgeting, and process optimization to ensure efficiency and high-quality service delivery.
⦁ Client Acquisition: Identify and secure new clients, particularly travel agencies and tour operators, to expand the company’s market presence.
⦁ Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, financial reporting, and cost-control measures to ensure profitability and financial health.
⦁ Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team, fostering a collaborative and high- performance work environment.
⦁ Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends and market conditions to identify opportunities and adapt strategies accordingly.
⦁ Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
⦁ Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
Qualifications:
⦁ Education: Minimum of bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration or similar
⦁ Experience: Minimum of 7 years in senior management roles within the tourism or travel industry, with a demonstrated ability to drive growth and operational excellence.
Skills:
⦁ Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans.
⦁ Strong financial management and budgeting skills.
⦁ Exceptional leadership and team-building capabilities.
⦁ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English. German, and Afrikaans (ability to converse, write and negotiate in all three languages proficiently)
⦁ Proficiency in relevant industry software and tools.
