Security Systems Technician
Experience
3+ Years
PURPOSE OF POSITION
Responsible for performing customer support activities involving on-site installation, Commissioning
and repair/maintenance of complex integrated security equipment and systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
Grade 12 or current NSSCO with 20 points over 5 subjects.
A recognized Trade Diploma/Certificate in Electrical / Instrumentation, will be an advantage
Proven experience in security systems installation, commissioning and maintenance.
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Technician in Installing, Commissioning and maintaining of IP
Surveillance, Access Control & Intercom systems.
Minimum 3 years’ current experience perpetually working on security systems such as XMPBabylon, Gallagher, Avigilon, AXIS, Dallmeier, Qognify. Certification in the above fields will be a
great advantage.
Relevant SQL knowledge would be advantageous.
Possess a sound understanding of basic electronics and technical security systems.
Excellent trouble shooting and fault-finding/repair skills.
No criminal record, Valid Good Standing Conduct Certifcate
Valid driver’s license.

KEY DUTIES
Installations:
Install various security systems for customers on site as and when required. Complete all
wiring, connections, and equipment installations ensuring that all security systems are
complete and satisfy customer and contractual requirements. Configure and program
relevant electronic systems. Troubleshoot new system installations to ensure proper function
and that the system meets customer and company requirements.
Maintenance:
Conduct ongoing system checks to ensure all systems are in working order. If system
malfunctions are detected, diagnose problems and perform service and repairs on faulty
systems. Respond to all customer complaints regarding the security systems, ascertain
equipment / systems problems and repair said problems.
Additional:
Assist and interface with the Technical Specialist regarding on-site scheduling of work
activities and timely delivery of equipment. Proper documentation of installation issues /
actions / resolutions both internally and externally (site visit reports, acceptance forms,
service tickets, etc.).
