IT TECHNICIAN

Seaflower Group of Companies incorporating the two main Operators, Seaflower Whitefish Corporation Limited & Seaflower Lobster Corporation based in Lüderitz, is an Equal Opportunity/ Affirmative Action employer and requires the services of an innovative and experienced IT Technician at its Head Office in Lüderitz.
The incumbent reports to the Facility Maintenance Manager and will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining and upgrading the computer systems and networks.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS WILL INCLUDE AND ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)
• Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
• Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimise performance
• Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
• Organise and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
• Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
• Assist personnel with installation, configuration and ongoing usability of system hardware and software
• Installations of network hardware and devices

REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 3+ years’ experience in computer networks and systems maintenance
• Good knowledge of Cyber security and data privacy principles
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Certification as an IT Technician will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of fishing industry processing solution systems will be a bonus.
