BRIDGING MINISTER – DUTCH REFORMED CHURCH
ORANJEMUND
Successful completion of the official bridge ministry course at the Faculties of Theology of the Universities of Stellenbosch or Pretoria, is a minimum requirement.
Minister profile:
- Must be a licenced minister of the Dutch Reformed Church.
- Must have relevant experience and be passionate about bridge ministry.
- Fluent in Afrikaans.
Profile of the congregation:
Oranjemund is a rural mining community, situated in the Tsau //Khaeb National Park where the Orange River runs into the Atlantic Ocean. The community is dependent on the mine and many are Namdeb employees Since 2017 the congregation also included the congregation of Rosh Pmah, a mining town located 100km inland from Oranjemund
The opening of the town and a change in the expected life of the mine changed the dynamics of the town and led to a decline of NG Church members over the last few years
The sudden death of the congregation’s minister caused further disruption and trauma in the congregation
The church leadership regards the assistance of a bridging minister of utmost importance for the recovery of the congregation.
