Package Lead I Manager – M4 / DU
The following opportunity exists for a seasoned & self driven project professional with a proven track record managing expansion projects roles and who is hungry to play a pivotal role in enabling the conversion of Skorpion Zinc Refinery at Namibia to become the anchor of growth for the Southern African Zinc Industry to join the Projects team. The incumbent will play a critical role in enabling the pipeline of VZI Growth Projects totalling to the value of U$ 1.5 bn – in next 3-5 years

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The incumbent will be responsible to plan, organise, manage, direct, coordinate and implement
respective Project packages
including all aspect of Project Management at Refinery
Conversion Project in Skorpion Zinc (Namibia)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Qualified Engineer (any discipline)
- Min 10/12 years of relevant project experience (preferably Smelter & Refinery).
- Proven working experience in project management role & execution through EPC/Construction partners.
- Should possess excellent interpersonal skill and be a team player
- Solid organizational skills including attention to project detail and multitasking skills
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
Namibian Police Clearance
KEY FUNCTIONAL SKILLS
Experience in large Capex projects from early development I concept stages, tender preparation & bid adjudication, review of detailed engineering design, managing project execution, planning & expending with business partners, assistance in commissioning & project handover to operation team for relevant package.
Good project understanding of Civil, Mechanical. E&l. etc. of various Project components coupled with strong problem solving & decision-making attitude.
Understanding of SANS/relevant design code framework in Namibia.
Ensure strict quality control & assurance aspect for all mechanical equipment
Experience of working & managing large budgets in a project from concept to commissioning and handing over.
Experience of project planning & expediting along with EPC/Construction partner.
Track record of working on site and executing the project within the timelines
Cost control & Claim management. Experience of completing the projects within costs.
Planning project resources. Coordinate internal resources and business partners for the flawless execution of projects
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- SHEQ Compliance.
- Work with business partners as project owner to resolve day to day engineering/site related issues
- Monitor project tasks and schedule and ensure compliance to plan
- Track project performance, analyze key risks and highlight in advance
- Responsible for management and handing over of all related drawings/ documents incl. commissioning protocols
- Quantity certification & quality checks
- Ensure project completion within time & budget
