COMPANY INVENTORY CONTROLLER – WINDHOEK
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
- Ensure cost-efficient and accurate inventory control that is responsive to inventory planning and complies with Company objectives.
- Continuous investigation, monitoring and implementation of systems, equipment and procedure to continuously improve optimal stock control.
- Assisting sales staff by monitoring and communicating optimal stock levels and stock profile at customer base.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Maintain inventory integrity.
- Review minimum and maximum levels of stock comparing to current proposed levels and determine whether replenishment is required.
- Distinguish between normal consumable items and critical items to determine final reorder needs (based on replenishment reports).
- Generate stock requisitions on the in-house computer system for procurement purposes.
- Manage stock counts and accuracy checks.
- Minimize overstock and removal of obsolete raw materials to maximize working capital.
- Identify systemic issues (root causes) and shortfalls related to the inventory procedures and control, and recommend corrective action that will eliminate or greatly reduce future inventory inaccuracies.
- Conduct statistical analysis and reporting for the controlling of inventory data in order to identify critical areas and trends.
- Work cross functionally with internal staff to implement process improvement in inventory procedures with a goal of optimizing location, bin and item level accuracy.
QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce/Economics/Finance.
- Five years’ experience in a stock management environment.
- Ability to process and analyse large quantities of data.
- Exposure to the paint / building industry would be an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and travel regularly.
- A proven track record in applying technical, human resources and conceptual skills.
- Strong analytical skills with advance level of computer literacy.
- Namibian citizen.
